The G25's stateside arrival coincides with Infiniti's desire to broaden its portfolio and the G lineup. While the G37, G37S, and the new G37 IPL models cater to those searching for a sporty luxury car, the G25 moves in the opposite direction. According to Ben Poore, vice-president of Infiniti North America, the new model targets luxury buyers who buy cars primarily for style and substance, not flat-out acceleration or cornering grip.
Just because it is a base model doesn't mean the G25 will not be sparsely equipped. The base G25 sedan will come with leather seats, aluminum interior trim, an eight-way power driver's seat (four-way power passenger's seat), and a six-speaker stereo with standard XM Satellite Radio capability. HID headlamps and 17-inch alloy wheels add to the G25's feature count.
A pricier G25 Journey will include a rearview camera, heated seats and exterior mirrors, automatic headlamps, dual zone automatic climate control and more features.
A G25x sedan with all-wheel-drive will also be available.
